REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL

World Vision International Nepal, in support of World Vision Australia is initiating a new Area Programme (AP) in Dailekh district of Nepal from FY2022. As a part of the new AP implementation, it is inevitable for WV partnership to have a good understanding about the proposed working area in terms of gender, social inclusion, social status of women, men, girls, boys, people with disability and other existing vulnerable social groups. As a child focused organization, WV intends to have adequate information about the status of child well-being and the prioritized needs in the respective area. In this regards WVIN is going to conduct a comprehensive GESI assessment of Dailekh AP to inform the stakeholders and partners about the current status of the scenario and associated factors of child well-being priorities.  This document briefs the GESI assessment process and expectation. It is expected to conduct an assessment jointly by WV staff and an independent consultant to ensure the desired quality of information is reported. Thus, in this regard, WVI Nepal invites interested and authorized consulting firm to submit proposal for the same:

1. Request For Proposal for Consultancy service: - GESI assessment of Dailekh AP

Key Responsibilities: The purpose of the assessment is to collect information to identify the key issues in the domains of child wellbeing and vulnerability in prospective programme area, explore necessary data and information to integrate a gender/GESI perspective on programming and to understand the characteristics of the local context for long-term development interventions. The assessment also expected to access and collect accurate information about people and lives in the programme area.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience required: 

  • At least Masters’ Degree in Sociology, Anthropology, Gender studies;
  • Have more than 5 years of experience on carrying out assessment, research and studies preferred in development sectors;
  • Have strong experience of conducting similar research/analysis;
  • Have strong experience of writing high quality assessment and evaluation reports;
  • Have strong exposure to the grass-root realities, harmful social norms and GESI related issues;
  • Adequate experience to analyse qualitative data and demonstrated performance in research data management and analysis;
  • Skills in literature review and qualitative analysis; demonstrated experience on analysis from wide range of information;
  • Knowledge and understanding of different nature of development projects;
  • Understanding about different types of community issues, problems and consequences in context of Nepal;
  • Ability to work in team ; Demonstrated experience of facilitating different consultative meetings; Ability to facilitate discussion to reach out to conclusion;
  • Demonstrated experience of developing and using participatory (PRA) tools; 
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Knowledge and understanding on WVIN’s programme/project model and operational modality would be an added advantage;
